They are placed outside of the channel in order to remove the sand from the influent water of the system. The wastewater that enters the system through the inlet line of Grit Classifier flows to the clarifier part of the separator where precipitation process is performed. After the precipitation process, the cleaned water is discharged from the outlet line of the separator. Sand and similar materials deposited at the bottom are discharged from the top point of the separator with auger system. Sand Separators operate at high efficiency for liquid-solid separation due to low auger rotation speed.
